Amrtha Agro Industries was established in the year 1995 by a professionally experienced NRI on an experimental basis. The entrepreneur developed several pieces of equipment for use in agricultural and industrial fields to solve the challenges of increasing wages and the cost of production. He developed a unique scientific specification for a new type of wheelbarrow, which was intended to equip the farm and industrial needs of the southern states of India. The wheel and carry bucket were mounted on a chassis that was designed to align and balance 90% of the weight on the wheel. The products were widely used in southern states, and no other designs have substituted this unique labour saving technique thus far. The quality and durability of the products were widely appreciated for their utility in various fields.

 As pioneers in this field, the products were able to penetrate the markets in all the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. The industry experienced steady and constant growth, which resulted in orders being attracted from various government and quasi-government organizations, as well as reputable companies. The sales had reached a significant amount of approximately Rs. 1 crore per annum. Over the past decade, there was a significant increase in the production and goodwill of this unit.
